Home made sledges

So you can't buy a sledge for love nor money?
No problem! It's amazing how well a piece of plywood (the kind you get in flat packs to make the backs of wardrobes) will whizz you down a hill!

So fast you wipeout!

We just made 2 small holes at one end and threaded some string through, and the boys had a fabulous time.
(I had a turn too, and they really worked well.)

  1. Fantastic!! When I was little, we lived right beside a riverbank and used to use old fertiliser sacks as sledges. They went really fast but were pretty hard on the bum if you went over a frozen molehill!! I think it's making things like this that children really remember when they are adults, I know I do.
