A traditional card

A friend requested a mother's day card for her mum "who insists on calling it mothering sunday."
This is just papercraft, the letters cut on the Cricut machine, embellished with a ribbon and a single brad.

Post-it note cover - tutorial

This is a super quick make which costs hardly anything!
All you need is a block of sticky post-it notes, some card, patterned paper and glue.
Start by cutting a piece of card so that it is the same width as your sticky notes, and long enough to wrap around; ie height + height + thickness of the pad.
Make two firm creases where the card will bend around the pad, then glue the sticky pad onto the bottom of the rectangle of card.
Then you will need whatever you want to decorate it with. I'm using a square of patterned paper, a heart shape and some letters. You can be as creative as you like - space permitting!!
Stick the square of patterned paper on the front.
Then stick on the rest of your embellishments - easy peasy!!

If you make one let me know! I'd love to see :)

I love you more than...

Chocolate?

Beer and bacon?
Gin? I'm not sure I could say that ;)

Sewing? oh, no, I definitely couldn't say that!!
These are little A6 cards, hand stamped with any message you like!

What do you love your partner more than??

Handmade Thursday - a birthday card

It's been a while since I made a card.
Lazy I guess.
But this is for the mother-in-law who is a card maker herself. She actually appreciates a handmade card and the thought which goes into it.

The ladybird is a stamp I got free from a magazine. Not that long ago, I think it was possibly Simply Homemade. I coloured it with my watercolour pencils. Papers came from my stash, and the greeting is handwritten.

Hello Scrapbooking, my old friend

It's been a long time since I rummaged through my vast supply of scrapbooking supplies.
(Let's just say I have enough stash to open a small shop.)

Mother's Day Cards

This one for my mother-in-law; the image is a free digi-stamp from Bird's Cards.
I printed the image out then hand painted it. Then I drew around the outline in black pen and I'm quite pleased with the end result.
This one is for my mum, just some printed papers, the shapes were cut using my Quickutz Squeeze and the greeting is hand-written.

Wedding card for a special friend

I'm going to a wedding on Friday.
(Shhh, it's a secret!)

I've made this card with patterned papers and a digi-stamp which I downloaded for free on the craftee guiri blog.
The words are handwritten, and I've finished it off with a bit of ribbon and a couple of brads.

Mallorca holiday fun

I am out of practice for scrapbooking; this simple layout has taken me ages!
These are pictures of us having fun in the pool on holiday. I have mounted the photos onto white paper and rounded the corners.
The title and journalling are handwritten, and I have avoided lots of fussy embellishments as I think the page is already pretty crowded.

Incidentally this...

...is the mess I have made on the dining table. My inability to work neatly is a major deterrent for this pastime!

Cards for men

Just made this for my father-in-law with a stamp I bought a while back.
And this super simple one for a friend.

Scrapbook page - three fidgetty children

I've made this scrapbook page because I accidentally printed out a load of reject photos!
I was trying to get a pic of all three children to print onto canvas for a Christmas present for the grandparents - the bottom picture was the one which made it.
Because there are so many photos on this layout I decided not to add a title, and kept the embellishment simple with a few bits of ribbon and some brads.

Box of cards

Every time I made a card this year I tried to make an extra one.
There's quite a variety here; mostly birthdays, some blank, two new baby cards and a sympathy card.
I've packaged them up in cellophane bags.

I found an old box - it had some soap and a loofah in originally. I've covered up the words with some pretty paper and put all the cards in it.
These are for my mum as an extra Christmas present. She often asks me to make her a card, and now she can send genuine handmade greetings throughout the year.
(She can even claim them as her own work if she likes!)

Paper stars

I'm in love with making these fabulous stars!
All you need is some square paper - and I have lots of that in my cardmaking stash - and some glue dots or double sided sticky tape. And some ribbon for hanging.

The instructions are on this blog The Magic Onions.

Here are mine hanging from the light fitting in the hall.
