Handmade Thursday - Note to self; button sewing is tedious

I have made myself some bed cushions.
I finished the front one today, having decided it would be nice to embellish it with a nice heart motif.

I'd forgotten how I'm not a big fan of hand sewing - especially not button sewing!
Still, it's done now, and I quite like it.
(Husband not so pleased, pointless, flowery cushions are not a man thing.)

More Handmade Thursdays at  White Lily Green (which is a lovely blog I have recently discovered.)

  1. wow! tedious but worth it! Love them, so much!!!!

Thanks so much for linking up, and for the lovely comment :)

  2. Tres pretty, I too hate sewing buttons and poppers, hence my daughter's recently made half size duvet cover only has three popper on it! :)

  3. Very pretty and love the little button heart a really nice finish.

  4. Really love the button detail. I'm going a bit button mad at the moment.

LOL at your hubby, I think mine thinks the same!

  5. these are really cute i love the buttons

  6. The button work was worth it as they are beautiful cushions! Love the fabric too x

  7. Oh these are lovely...I agree with everyone else love the buttons, but I'm a bit addicted to buttons!

  8. Must be a button day today... I got my basket out and sorted through to see if I had enough buttons to make some jewellery with but sadly wasn't inspired. Do love your cushions tho', my OH would think the same, he complains each time he makes the bed about the cushions that adorn it...unless something has a practical use he doesn't see any point in having it! And looking pretty does not equally a practical use.
